Mackerel is a fish that is good for baking and for pickling. Marinated mackerel with onion and carrots is an excellent appetizer for boiled potatoes. Thanks to spices, the fish is very fragrant. It is quite suitable for a festive table or gatherings in nature, and for everyday cuisine.
To cook fish, we need mackerel, onions, carrots, salt, sugar, vinegar 9%, bay leaves, peppercorns and fragrant, a set of spices for pickling.
Remove the mackerel from all the viscera and remove the head, rinse well with running water and cut into pieces 1.5-2 cm.
In a saucepan, prepare a marinade. Pour in the water and add all the spices: salt, sugar, seasoning for pickling, bay leaf and pepper. Put the onions cut into half rings and carrots in circles. Bring the marinade to a boil, turn off the fire and pour vinegar into the saucepan. Cool to a warm state.
In a can of layers lay the fish shifting onions and carrots.
Pour the marinade into the jar, clean it for a day in the refrigerator.
After this time, serve the fish on the plate by laying it on the plate.
